Teen Individual Program

The Teen Individual Program (TIP) services teenagers with disabilities between the ages of 13 – 17.  This is an exciting opportunity for teens to explore and take part in farm experiences like grooming, feeding, and exercising our animals, mucking stalls and tending to our gardens.

Teens join us one day a week and spend one hour at The Barn.  We hold two 6-week sessions in both Spring and Fall.  Our Program Director carefully pairs each teen with a trained volunteer who is there for support and guidance.  The program enables teens to gain independence and confidence and improve gross and fine motor skills. They engage in activities designed to cultivate communication, socialization, safety awareness, and most importantly, FUN!

Participants who require a support person at school such as a nurse, PCA, ABA, TSS, etc. to be successful medically or behaviorally must provide a similar support person at The Barn during their TIP sessions.  All participants new to the Teen Individual Program must come in for a tour and a Barn Visit with the Program Director to determine if the program is appropriate, best assess the participants’ needs, and learn more about them to pair them with their volunteer!

  • Books, Barns and Big Imaginations:  Ever wondered what the animals’ favorite books are… or what Mr. Chris loves to read? Well, wonder no more—Week 2 is here!
  • Barn Olympics:  Get ready to jump, run, toss, and cheer, because it’s Barn Olympics Week! This week, our farm transforms into a stadium full of exciting challenges and friendly competition. Kids will take part in games inspired by animals, farm life, and classic Olympic events, all while building teamwork, balance, and confidence.
  • The Great Barn Leprechaun Hunt:  This week, the farm is bursting with shamrocks, rainbows, and hidden treasure, because it’s time for The Great Barn Leprechaun Hunt! Kids will dive into a magical world of leprechauns as they explore, create, and play.
  • Put Me In Coach :  Step up to the plate…it’s baseball week at The Barn! Kids will dive into all things Phillies as we celebrate Opening Day with games, creativity, and team spirit.
  • Caring Paws and Helping Hearts:  This week, it’s all about kindness, empathy, and caring for our animal friends! Kids will get hands-on experience helping out around the farm and learning how to care for animals big and small.
